  1. Hey ken, My name is perla and im 13 years old and i have a problem that i
only sing good when the artist is singing too ( like i need to hear the
original song while im singing) and i’ve tried to sing the song by myself
and i really dont sound right. I mostly sing hard rock, mostly amy lee’s
songs. Im hopeing you can give me some tips to help me solve my problem.

  2. Hey ken, my name is Dennis and im 18 yrs old, and i have problem to sing in
high notes, sometimes when i reach high notes it done well but in other
time before i reach the high notes i feel so tired and if i force it, it
comes strainy. How do you think about thatt? and basically, i really,
    really lack of singing technique.
One more Ken,I want to ask you a question, in this link Gordon & LA, The
Voices – All by myself – Geloof, Hoop & Liefde Special 05-04-13 HD . What
technique he does in minute 2:55? and what technique he does in 3:06 he
change his voice in Strange technique WHICH IS IM LOOKING FOR !! How to do
    that ken??
Thanks for reading. Im hoping you can help me to solve my problems.

  3. is it possible to sing good, even just a little, when you ‘suck’? haha I
want to sing but I don’t know if there is hope for me.

  4. Hey Ken I have a video request, could you do an example on how to sing like
Tod Howarth – It’s Over Now, Would greatly appreciate it, thanks man.

  5. One huge question 4 u. Why have I not seen you on the Voice, or the
I mean, my gosh, do you not know that you would surely win any competition
you entered? One word 4 u>>>> Awesome!

  6. By the way, could I also send you a sample for evaluation? I have sang all
my life, starting in a very loud rock band at 16-30, then in church from
time to time, and home recording my own songs on and off over the yrs. But
my problem has always been that I could not get thru a night of 4 hrs gig
w/o loosing my voice, and barely able to get thru the next nights gig. That
was way back and now at 50 yrs old, I really miss singing, but every time I
try, the song will be going great until about 3/4 way thru, then all of a
sudden can’t hit the highs no more. Like I start to loose my voice? Of
course I have never had vocal training. Just wondering how much I have been
doing wrong all my life, and if its damaged can it be fixed? and also if I
could have nodes? How would one know if they have nodules? Thanks sooo
much, and like I said before, u r AWESOME DUDE! I WOULD KILL TO HAVE YOUR

  7. i don’t actually suck at singing but i luck the source of real energy and i

  9. There is a video you say anyone can sing. Well, I’d challenge you to make
me a decent singer because I currently suck even though I love music.

  10. I wish I could attend these lessons…I mean I can watch online but I love
face to face! NZ doesn’t have the best training they’re singing teachers
not vocal coaches and it does frustrate me that most of them are not
particularly good at singing. Haha I also suffer from regular throat
infections and sinus infect. and I’ve lost my power!! I might just end up
doing online If I can’t find a decent teacher here =.=

  11. I’m a certified closet singer. I belch out songs at home, but will never
sing infront of others. I’m participating in a small town pageant for some
scholarship money and I am thinking that I might change my talent to
singing. I just need some reassurance or guidance in my singing. These
lessons you give seem amazing. I will definitely continue to follow your
    videos :)

so many people on here asking if they can learn to sing like this or that
person, just learn to sing like yourself, none of us will ever be freddie
mercury, or adele, those jobs are already taken. ken sounds amazing, and
though you may be able to hear slight influences (joe cocker maybe), he
doesn’t sound like anyone else. i need to learn to sing in tune, and sound
    like me.

  13. Ken i have found you not for long time but you have enthuse me for your
voice and your professionally… a great from Italy

  14. Hey Ken, I really love singing, i’m currently 14 years old, but the problem
is i suck so bad at singing. Trust me when i say i sound like a dying cat,
or trying to bath a cat. obviously i’m not a natural born. IS it possible
for me to have a good and rich voice. Sometime i wonder why i love
something so much that im terrible at it compare to some people. Please
answer my question honestly +KenTamplin VocalAcademy

I Don’t know why, but I can say that I’m afraid of singing and that is
why I can not improve myself to sing. I really admire your work :D

  16. saintsamaritan

6:04-7:13 WOW! What a delight to listen to such a strong yet mellow
voice! And the tone of your voice varies as you will, too! Amazing!
This is the first I’ve heard of you, Ken. Are you the lead singer of a
band? What are your hits? Any classic rock? I used to be in music
ministry but have since lost my vocal power.

  17. Sumaya Kaiyal

Hey ken ! I have a problem, I can only sing good in low ranges or in a low
voice and I’m afraid of singing in front of people. I really want to start
a pop-punk or pop-rock band (I can write songs and play guitar) with my
friends (one drummer and two guitarist) and I really want to be able to
sing loud and still sound good. Can you please help me ? Do you have any
    tips for me?

  18. I wish I can sing a least a little good. Is their anyway I can get a few

Is There Really Such Thing As “Stress Free Singing”?

I see many vocal coaches (and their students) promoting the idea that
“there should be no stress while singing” and therefore frustrating the
heck out of singers who think there is “something wrong with themselves”
because they can’t, over night, achieved this “stress free” singing.
(this also gives a vocal coach “tribal knowledge” to keep you coming back
to them as the only one who has the answer to this elusive concept)

This is nonsense and here’s why:

Singing is like a sport. And with any sport, it’s not the absence of
stress, it’s the management of stress that makes a great athlete.

    Think of it like this:

When Lionel Messi is going to goal, do you think his body is “stressed?”
(Anyone who says it isn’t has never played a sport before).

But Lionel has learned the art of training his body and mind for that
moment when it’s time for him to step on the gas, take on 3 players and
score what “looks” like an “effortless goal.”

But you can be assured, it was not done “without effort” or without

Lionel achieved this through training his technical abilities as well as
building stamina and muscle memory to achieve this consistency.

Now it is true that some styles of singing require less stamina than others
and therefore can be accomplished with less strength training.

In other words, singing a light pop song requires very little “strength” in
the sound whereas singing a heavy rock song often requires incredible
    strength and stamina.

This is also true for those (like myself) that want to push their “limits”
and abilities to be all they can be. This of course requires more “effort”
    and technical training.

With that said, there are many stages to building this “stamina” and it’s
ok to “find yourself” as one first starts with “damaging street singing”
(with total stress) and going through the different stages of learning how
to manage this stress away form the voice through correct training.

If I didn’t show the different stages of this process, and only showed
“perfection”, people would never learn that these people are all human,
having to work on their craft just like yourself.

  25. Do you ever sing softly or teach people in your course to sing softly and
with dynamics? Just curious. Cheers from the Yukon. Love your music!

  26. Hi I had stopped singing.a year ago and I miss singing so.much. can
    you.please.give me some.advice. voice back?.

  27. But relating to singing, if there is not any overlap between the tune you are trying to sing and the notes which can be coming out of your mouth, you’re most likely higher off sitting it out on the karaoke bar.
