@emilydenise12345 I have been working at this a very long time. This is why I am good at it. It did not come easy, but it did come. YOu would be surprised at what you are capable of when you put your mind and energy into it

  2. So Im a starting out blues singer a little funk and soul, early rock. Not to much of the high stuff in blues and the sound im going for. but I like the Do then Teach method any hope for a 20 something out of the middle of the mitten.

  3. I really hate it when people change the words to a song. Its not better… I think the man who wrote it liked it the way it was. After all, he’s the master that wrote it. It was pleasant until I heard the word change.

I’m glad you brought that up.

I always thought that music was an art. (freedom of expression).

I have sung this song many times with its original lyrics but I liked the way it felt when I put a more spiritual conotation to it.

I doubt the writer…Dobie Grey (who’s grandfather was a Baptist minister and he a church choir singer, would have dispapproved as you have 🙂

  5. Hey Ken, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and amazing voice with us. I have been singing in my band for 15 years now. I never had lessons and to this day I feel I am only a pretty good singer but I want to be great. I have some videos on here one being drift away If you have a second to listen.. I do lose my voice after 2 days in a row.. It is very frustrating. loved your lyrics to Drift away!

  6. Awesome singing! I just had a question, I’m 19 and a beginner, and my voice is naturally deep. I was wondering if it’s possible to use the sort of “David Bowie” style of singing by singing in a deep voice but with a good full sound? I’ve always been thinking that I have to raise my voice to a higher octave when singing

  7. Fantastic!! So great to hear this! I have always loved your voice! “It Won’t Be Long” is still in my top five favorite albums from the 80’s tied with Petra’s ‘Not of the This World’, Altar Boy’s ‘Gut Level Music’, Bride’s ‘Live to Die’ and Stryper’s ‘To Hell With the Devil’. Hearing this really made my day!! 🙂

  8. Ken, Awesome job on this song! Love the way you swapped out the lyrics and made it your own. I too have done that with a lot of tunes and every time they end up meaning more by honoring The Lord. You will always get a few comments of folks being critical of that but it is a testament from you that your audience of One is most important to you!

  9. Amazing. seen lives change w/ the Lord supporting you & has blessed mine. Thank you! .. Makes me think of Chicago’s ‘Inspiration’ which I thought of as unto the Lord, not just a sweetheart. .. I’m not a songwriter, but I do write, and have redone a country song I was spontaneously singing with different lyrics about the Lord/HS instead of ‘country music’ as the song is about and it fits just fine. The original singer is a Christian.. who knows.. if not, then I will just praise with it. 🙂

    Hey Guys consider this:

Most all other vocal coaching web sites display no actual singing. NONE
They “talk” about singing with unverifiable testimonials but show no real singing.
