Sing Like A Pop Star – Sing Like a Pro – Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Adam Levine – Felicia Ricci

Sing Like A Pop Star – Sing Like a Pro – including Sam Smith, Ariana Grande /

This video deconstructs some signature “tricks” or tonal manipulations that the majority of popular singers and songwriters use today, including:

0:42 – Vocal Fry – low frequency cord vibrations

2:36 – Breathiness

4:09 – Resonance Manipulation

7:42 – Lyric and Vowel Modification, and

10:00 – a Raised Tongue.

In the video, I mention Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Adam Levine, Adele and Shakira to give you some reference points for the techniques we’re talking about.

This video is all about expanding your singing “toolkit” when it’s time to interpret a song in the style of a pop star. Of course, the real artistry comes from taking a melody and a lyric and finding the best way to perform it for an audience or on a track — but it’s certainly helpful to know what kinds of singer techniques are available to you!! Hope you like it!

know musicians worked in the railroad industry.
