This is my special blend of effects and techniques to achieve the thick doubled/layered sound that’s used on Rob’s voice in the studio

  1. @bram18y – My name isn’t Rob. If you’re referring to the animated desktop wallpaper, it’s a feature of Vista Ultimate

Do everything he says, except using the original vocal track for each channel… Double track it. When you take identical takes and nudge them a few ms it causes some phase and comb filtering issues. You could double track it, then raise one a few cent like you suggest and the natural varient timbre of the seperate takes will be much more full… just MY 2 cent. It doesn’t sound bad or anything, but I’m pretty sure Zombie just double takes right?

  3. It’s a bad idea to process a 24bit audio more than 3 times. And mixdown more than 4x without leveling is bad as well, you are losing a lot of dynamics. You could propably do it with one single DSP processing effect like chorus (chose the amount of voices, and it automaticall does the pitch and time shift for you) and then apply a Flanger or even a Phaser. If you really wanna distort the signal at least compress and limit the whole thing.

  4. I appreciate your tutorial but there are many beginners out there who will produce clipping vocals with low dynamics out of bad recordings and make them even worse. 🙁

  5. @DeeJaySoulStep – I agree. I would probably never produce a track like this without compressing it. Besides, stacking that many layers of the same track on top of each other would ultimately clip, but that’s not really the purpose here.

  6. @CoolEditz hay man this helping alot, got any tips tutorials for guitar lead tones and how to mix solos to sound super awesome, thanks mike!

  7. i wanna do just like rob zombie in his song reloaded when he screams at the end and his voice sound like cut and back can u help me bro

The inverted average could make the two left and right vocal channels cancel each other out and vanish or become a lot quieter if the track gets mixed to mono. It’s something to test for any time you have one side inverted.

@vbjjmhu you are correct when i asked my friend who is working in music field, told me that most of the best music composing softwares are hiding from public. Listen A friend of mine working with Axwell said this software is the bomb for big beats and crazy effects. you can get it here ==>

  10. @cciqoze yep i agree even i searched for 2 weeks for a better software to make high depth tones. Between you can make some damn insane beats with this software. Its finally been released to the public. i found it here >>

  11. why do you have to pan at the start of vid hard left and right ? that makes your voice extremely wide. what if you wanted a narrower voice ? can you not pan less than that ?

  12. Great vid,but my computer has single processor and locks up alot 😀 i need alot of vocal help XD

not sure if you take requests but i use audacity and ive been trying to find out how to get a techno sound for my recorded song but i cant figure it out.

  14. I would love an updated version of this using Adobe Audition. I tried to follow along but a few of the effects used in the vid are not in Adobe Audition.

  15. U know the clean vocal sounds lots like Phil from pantera and I’d say that’s way cooler anyway! But thanks for the good info

Hi! you know where I can get the audio tracks of the songs rob zombie? only the intro and sounds heard from behind the band .. I have a tribute band and the need to play the songs …. thank you very much!

  17. the first track sounds slowed down and droped in pitch, lol dig em! Sugar smack, diggin in a vein, sex in the cemetery tonight, roamin through the graveyard, frolic through the cemetery-songs from local bands, not on national touring circuit…

I noticed on your delay settings it was in milliseconds… My version of cool edit had it beats for some reason, anyhow just did a simple conversion of 500 = 120 beats and 250 = 60, which seemed to do the trick.  btw, very informative and great voice.

  19. makes sense…if you watch a rob zombie performance live, he sounds horrible and is often out of breath. seems like effects on the record.
