@kentamplin sir does Myles use a correct technique? He sounds pretty
professional to me singing almost everyday on stage and working his ass
off…and still I don’t see him damage his voice even a little.. And still
he pulls off killer guitar riffs while singing…

Yes he has studied with one of the same vocal coaches I have. Often he
strays from that but he does use proper technique much of the time.

  3. He sounds really good to me! Ken, just curious, I ask you a lot…will you
ever cover a Muse or Radiohead vocal example? Thanks. Big fan.

  4. EVerytime I try to sing I sound like a mix of Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro
and Kurt Cobain. Not a good combination.

  5. 2:33 Ken, I am a big fan of Alter Bridge’s first two albums and I totally
agree with you about his overly compressed middy voice. Everytime I sing
along to “Watch Your Words” I always think of doing a cover of it. I’m the
guy with the Jason Mraz type voice who wants to learn how to do grit. I did
some SLIGHT grit on Alice In Chan’s “Rooster” at karaoke last night. In the
moment I’m paranoid that it might be bad, but it doesn’t really “hurt” (it
just seems like it _could_ if I pushed harder).

  6. @kentamplin you should do a video of how to sing like Justin Hawkins of the
Darkness. I’d love to know how to get the killer highs like the chorus to
    ‘Concrete’! /watch?v=v6mvULEVy6c

I have a video of this on my web site on “support” at

  8. Hello Ken: I’ve viewed many of your videos and I’d like to say that I like
that you post videos where you actually work with people to achieve goals
with another person when it comes to singing. I was wondering how does one
get a one-on-one session with you over the internet? I’d like to get better
at singing. Thank you for your time.

All of that info is under the “singing lessons” tab at the very top of my
KenTamplinVocalAcademy(dot)com home page. I strongly recommend starting
with my course first as it will save you a lot in time and money and allows
you into the KTVA singers forums with over 2500 active singers…

Something I find quite interesting: Most all of the singing programs out
there display NO SINGING at all. Only “talk” with testimonials having lots
of claims about their product. Yet NO ONE IS PROVING IT WITH ANY ACTUAL
SINGING (and I mean songs, not a scale or a note). I think that is quite
strange. Just food for thought on your singing quest. No coaches really
singing, no students really singing. Only written and video testimonials,
WITH NO ACTUAL SINGING. Hmmm, interesting, don’t you think?

I have the best information out there and I prove it with my own voice as
    well as my students. 🙂

  14. I think the exact same thing about Myles Kennedy, that’s why I stopped
listening a bit to Slash’s last record. Too nasal, too small, too clean of
    a sound.

  15. Ken, do you think it’s possible for an alto female singer to sing like
    Myles full time?
PS Can’t wait to get your lessons!

  16. Funny how the title says “Sing Like Myles Kennedy” and you teach him hot
NOT to sing like him lol, great video anyways.

  17. Ken Im a baritone, I can sing the low notes of my range with no problem but
when I’m doing scales with my voice (using a guitar or piano) I can hit
really high notes too with or without falsetos , but i can use them when
I’m singing, I just doing know how I should do that and I feel like I’m not
using my all vocal range….what can I do ? When I’m playing and singing a
song I cant get there but doing scales I do with no problem….is that
normal ? What you think I should do about that ?

  18. Just curious about your opinion of Myles when he was in Mayfield Four, he
had a wider sound, a good example is the last part Summer Girl. There he
goes up to E5 in a really open full sound and then F#5 in mixed but still
more open than how he sings with Slash, also if you want to hear him sing
raw and with attitude check Fall that Hard from Mayfield Four, there he
sings up to G#5 with distortion. I do not know why he sings so nasal with
Slash perhaps he thinks that it would sound more Axl like that way. Give it
a try in Mayfield Four it almost seems like it is a different person
singing. Also in his new album he sings less nasal, but not as good as how
    he sang with Mayfield Four.

  19. Is there anyway you can explain how to get to this range? I’m stuck in a
mid range. Just some songs I can sing very well and some I can’t.

  20. I could see that a lot was expected of me, so I was on the lookout for any bundle accessible on the market that would assist me meet up with the demand of the items and the singing stage of the longer-staying members.
