How to Sing in Head Voice – Alto Range

Making the transition between chest voice range and head voice range can make all the difference in the world in the sound of your voice and the ease with which you can sing in your upper register. In this video I take you through a variety of exercises I use to help work on this transition to smooth it out and make it more comfortable and reliable. These exercises used in conjunction with good airflow can help you sing through this area of your voice with ease and confidence.

  1. Question-a teacher told me my transition point is more in the range of G4-A4. Can I still use this for developing my head voice or should I use another video.. I am an Alto

  2. Hi Jeff, I do not have a head voice, I can not scream so can you tell me why I don’t this ability. I am at a loss as I sing in a choir and even at alto I cannot reach some alto top notes. Thank you
