Let me ask you something: What does it really mean “to sing from the diaphragm”? It can mean many different things to many different people so in my opinion, the instruction “sing from the diaphragm” does not mean anything and does not help anyone either.
If you know what really happens to the diaphragm when we breathe and sing, you would know a few facts. You would know that the diaphragm is active during inhalation and is passive during exhalation. Yes, your diaphragm is passive when we sing. So how can you sing from your diaphragm? Ask the person who is giving you the advice. What does it really mean and what do you want me to do exactly?
In this video, I am sharing 3 steps that are absolutely necessary for efficient breathing. And you may not like some of them because they are “boring”. But if you skip some of these steps, you are robbing yourself of an opportunity to improve your singing instantly.
