Hey, it’s Harry Koizumi,
We are filling a request. This is the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World. For fun I also looked at the OZ version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and the Louis Armstrong version of What a Wonderful World in upcoming shows. Check Back!

Also, check out the Wizard of OZ version at:

  1. Wow! That’s an excellent tutorial, and it should give me enough push to finally learn this heartwarming arrangement. It was hearing Iz playing this three years ago that got me excited to branch out from guitar (slack key and other fingerstyles) and get a good uke. Thanks for doing such a thorough yet concise presentation.
    Mahalo from a Canadian!

  2. Mahalo for posting. Enough info that even a Haole from the middle mainland can learn. Excellent vocal by the way.

  3. This is fantastic! I’m transcribing it for my uke groups! I’ll send you a link. Of course, we’re pointing everyone here to learn directly from your tutorial. Thank you so much for doing this! Everyone wants to learn this. It’s really become our ukulele international anthem! Thanks again!

  4. I live in Pennsylvania. I’m part of many groups, but Foley Friedman (aka StrumBumFoley) of Philadelphia Mainline Ukulele Group found your tutorial. He is our fearless leader and is leading a series of Hawaiian jams. We found our Hawaiian Uke song abilities were lacking, so we’re working on it. I’ll post a link to our first Hawaiian night efforts.
