    Hi from South Africa

I really appreciate the way you present your material. As a person I lean to the technical and systematic instruction. As a singer that has done about six years of singing lessons with different singing coaches I have always been left with a feeling of uncertainty. Not in my ability to sing, but have I learned enough or have `I missed some important part of instruction that could help me as a singer.

What drew me strongly to your material was that it gave me in-depth information to understand the voice and it also made me realise that I know nothing about the voice. I am a firm believer in following step by step instruction method. And then later adjusting within the instruction or to fine tune.

You have done over 450 videos. If you were to place them in some order that will give instruction from a beginners to advanced . What order would you place them in. The aim would to ensure that i would get a sold foundation as singer.

In saying this, does your voice essentials course give me the structured security and will it give me this singing foundation? Or would I still need to go through your videos?

Hey, Shelley. Thanks for your comments and question. Yes, the online course will step you along a structured pathway designed to develop your vocal technique. While I do offer many playlists here on my YouTube channel, it is important to note that I reference many of my YouTube videos from within the course as ‘Value Add Viewing.’
The learning materials that I have prepared within the course are rather comprehensive. Each module will take you approximately 45mins to 1hour to complete…not to mention the necessary practice between each module.

  2. Great video, thanks – totally agree about gigging , each one I do teaches me more about expectations versus reality , but I’m still up for more punishment.

I started turning a corner in my vocal learning about three years ago. You’re one of the teachers that helped with that. I would say I started feeling like I have “arrived” since between 2017 and 2018, mostly 2018 and 2019. That being said, learning is for life. So I am never done .

  4. I think if I ever manage to actually get on a stage and sing a song in front of people, then I will have arrived, but I don’t have high hopes on it anytime in the foreseeable future.

  5. I started taking voice lessons in December 2018. I have learned so much and grown so much. I am very please but there are times when I wonder if I’ve chosen the right teacher for me or if it’s time to change teachers. She doesn’t give homework or use a curriculum. I don’t know how important that is. She goes by what I feel and have been noticing over a given week as I’ve sung or reviewed techniques I learned in my lesson. The things I practice are self determined, and then I tell her what I worked on. So speaking of this journey of singing… How do you know: 1) if you’ve chosen the right teacher for you? 2) if/when it’s time to find further development with another teacher? 3) how do you tell your teacher that you’re stopping the lessons with them without hurting their feelings?
I’m truly grateful so when I move in from this teacher I don’t want her to think that it’s because I’m dissatisfied. I’m not. I’m looking to discover if I can find more growth with a different teaching approach.
Thank you for your videos. You were one of the first teachers I found on YouTube and gave me the idea that this is something I could do. I’m 49 so found singing late in life but I want to take it as far as I can.
