Something I find quite interesting: Most all of the singing programs out
there display NO SINGING at all. Only “talk” with testimonials having lots
of claims about their product. Yet NO ONE IS PROVING IT WITH ANY ACTUAL
SINGING. I think that is quite strange. Just food for thought on your
singing quest. No coaches really singing, no students really singing. Only
written and video testimonials, WITH NO ACTUAL SINGING. Hmmmm, interesting,
    don’t you think?

  2. Nice Job Gabriela!!!!!!! Ken Thanks for this video its led me to discover
Halestorm their Awesome I’m always looking for a great New Rock/Metal Band.
I also was on Facebook and KTVA posted a video with your song”In The Lap Of
Legends” .It was awesome !!!!!!!! i just listened to the whole album it
    Rocks So Hard !!!!!!!!!!

Please do a tutorial on how to sing like Kevin Young of Disciple, Or
Michael Sweet Of Stryper. They both have very unique, different from the
other, awesome metal screams I would love to hear u do. Thanks!

KTVA is the only academy that gives out real useable information with a
real track record for having done it. (I have recorded and toured all my
life and am giving away life’s hardest to come by secrets) It’s also the
only program where the vocal coach actually sings well and demonstrates it
note by note, line by line along with his students singing well. No other
course shows this or proves this. So If you like this: You should check out
    the actual course at KenTamplinVocalAcademy(dot)com

  5. Sir, I don’t have your program (I’m kinda poor) :(, but I’ll buy it once I
turn 18 (cause I’m gonna get some money when I’ll turn 18.) 🙂 And I just
wanted to ask you if you could please just tell me what KIND of exercises
are good for making my voice STRONGER??? (Sorry for bad grammar, I’m Czech)
    😀

  6. Great video… love your tips… I just saw Lzzy for the 3rd time last
week, and as usual, she knocked it out of the park, even though she was
sick… amazes me that this girl sings like that night in and night out,
    yet kills it… I haven’t seen a better live rock vocalist, & I’ve damn
near seen everybody of note(we’re close in age, ken..lol) her power is
amazing to me… just curious, Ken, is it possible to regain your voice if
    you’ve screwed it up? I can’t access my falsetto anymore… 🙁

Wait ’till Gabby gets a hold of her ha ha. She’s 19 now and with killer
training she is gonna OWN! Yes in most cases it is possible to get your
voice back depending on how far gone it is. I rehabilitate voices almost on
    a daily basis

  8. annoyed me how she kept getting the last line of the chorus wrong as i
wanted to learn how to sing this properly

Thanks Lzzy, for tweeting this today 8/25/13 … – Ken Lzzy Hale @LZZYHALE
22h ….so very cool! Girls got a great voice, and sounds like a good
teacher too! Thank you, Im flattered

  11. wow thats cool Lzzy commented about Gaby! I ALWAYS wanted to hear Gaby
cover a Halestorm track! Long time fan of Gabys here in States. Thank u
soooo much for recording and posting Ken (although im a lil late coming
across this one)! U’ve made my week.

  12. Ken! I absolutely love that you used a song from one of my favorite bands
as an HOUR LONG tutorial. 🙂 and Gabys voice… so awesome. This really
helped me a lot… I used to get stuck on the chorus and it felt too weak
but i was singing along the whole time and wow, you work some magic. Wish I
had money so I could learn more from you! (such as that INCREDIBLE intro
yell she does before starting the song that sounds like her voice is
wavering between two voices with raspiness and is sooooo strong and solid
    at the same time)

There is oneeeee thing though. When she’s singing “I like the kick in the
faaaace,” it follows that with a much more brief “and the things you do to
me” then it moves to “I love the way that it hurrrtssss, I dont miss you I
miss the misery,” So its like the long section of the chorus, then a short
section, then another long and then finishes with another short section..
It kept sticking out to me the whole time while watching it, I did learn
from what you were showing her and it really shouldnt bother me that much
but it kept getting my attention and I wanted to show you guys what i was
talking about and it made me feel like a bit of a crazy person talking back
at a youtube video. 🙂 Haha.

  13. Hi Ken, I’m from Argentina. You teach very good, I’m trying to understand
everything haha (spanish). Keep it up. Kisses

  15. Love hearing you guys talk about singing. I”ve always sang, but I’ve been
in my own world knowing this stuff it seems. So great hearing what I know,
    put into words.

  16. Ken you have a prodigious mind,.. incredibly intelligent in general, but
I’m not sure I’ve seen a teacher on any subject as patient and as able to
spot the issue and command a resolution with such natural ease and speed as
you seem to do effortlessly. You even have me, a drummer first, guitarist
second, actually thinking hey.. maybe.. I could learn to sing. I’d tell
you to keep it up, but don’t think you need anyone to tell you that. :)

I watched almost all of this video, and if you’re the instructor you did a
very good job, but to sing like Lzzy Hale there has to be some Rock, or
even Gravel in a girl’s voice. The main reason I like her is because she
has the best female rock scream this side of David Lee Roth. Sorry,
    couldn’t resist that joke.

I come from a choral singing background, so I understand where she’s coming
from, and the Star Spangled Banner is still one of my best songs. That
said, I worshiped at the altar of James Hetfield long enough to earn many
distinct growls and rumbles in my voice. I didn’t even have to smoke.

On the plus side trying to sing all high like you but with some gravel I
found a new vocal sound for myself that’s pretty cool.

  19. This guy should give lessons on how to sing like M. Shadows of Avenged
Sevenfold or Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch. I’m sure that would be
    desired

  20. Bob Hohenberger

Here is an actual Skype singing lesson from Vocal Coach Ken Tamplin of Ken
Tamplin Vocal Academy. Ken teaches Gabriela Guncikovic how to sing like
Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, “Miss the Misery”. Watch this lesson and learn to
sing the high notes. For more information go to KenTamplinVocalacademy.com

  21. i dont know if its encouraging or dishartening that someone who sings so
well like her needs voicelessons and i who wish he could sing is happy if
    im anywhre near the pitch

  22. Samantha Fort (Tattooed)

First 12 minutes of this is really awesome. I like the way you teach very
    well done.

  23. Just discovered Gabbi a little over a week ago (I stand) then have watched
literally all of your in studio videos you did of her singing and wow, just
wow. She is truly a phenomenon – every time I’m picking my jaw up off the
floor. Ken , I watched this video in its entirety and I just want to
commend you on your incredible coaching abilities but also where you have
helped Gabbi come from and to. It was so intriguing watching her as a
nervous 19 year old here struggling through these exercises but responding
and catching on to what you were coaching her through. Then you go from
this video and watch, for instance, “Man in a box” and see where you two
have come and it’s absolutely unbelievable. You’ve gotta feel like a bit of
    a proud papa I’d think.
