One of the first things to do before starting to sing is to make sure that you come in with a completely relaxed mindset. Take deep breaths and let your body relax. Before you sing, make sure your body isn’t in any state of tension. Think about it like running a race with tired legs. If you are not at your best, you will not be able to sing your best.
Jenna Matkowski has been teaching vocal and piano lessons at The Music Depot for 2 years. She studied music at Western University and is an experienced singer and teacher.
