  2. This episode fas amazing. I have the problem of singing and practicing just too much (I seriously think that I have an addiction to singing). But this causes me problems with the voice. Is not that I sing two hours traight two days of the week, I sing for two hours almost every day since I have memory.

  4. I’m a simple person, I see Justin sitting at the piano with a new lesson and I click. Didn’t even read the title and had to go back and watch part one too haha. I’m very happy to have stumbled upon your channel a couple of years back, I gained many helpful tips from you and the exercises are always fun. So close to 100 episodes! 6. Lesther Miranda

Hello Dear Justin and y’all, My Name is Lesther Miranda. I’m 19 years-old. I started singing almost 2 years ago. My family was so horrible to me, they laughed and made fun of me, they were always saying things like ”You’re the shame of the family” ”Your voice sucks so bad, I’d rather have my ears bleeding” and stuff like that. I lost count of how many times I cried till I fell asleep and felt miserable, I wanted to die, honestly. But I knew Inside of me that I wanted to sing. I kept going, though. As I practiced my pitch started to exist, from there on the improvement started to go faster and faster. To the point that from the 1st month to 7 months later I could sing, I couldn’t believe it. The first time I Recorded myself and didn’t sound bad, I honestly, cried. Now I have mastered so many songs. I can sing Classical(Opera), Country Music, Folk Music and some Pop Music. I’m a Baritone and I have 4 Octaves of Range! (Subharmonic: G1-D2, Chest: E2-G4, Mix:G4-C5, Falsetto:A4-G5) and all because I didn’t give Up. And I encourage you, If you’re going through any bullying because of the fact that you want to sing. DON’T GIVE UP, It’ll be worth it , I promise. There’s no greater feeling than singing in front of the abusive people that gave you a hard time and shut their mouth. I did, and I know you will do it too.

  7. Hey Justin! Please never lose that passion of yours. It’s a gift for us to see a passion so strong that it’s physically tangible. Truly amazing to witness. Also to the NYVC team, you guys rock! Thank you so much.

  8. Nola Kate Music

Hi, Justin 🙂 I have a solo with a choir in May. I was wondering if you had any tips on expanding/strengthening your vocal range? There are a couple notes at the very top of my range that I have to hit and I want to be able to hit them with ease. I’m worried about straining my voice… Any tips would be appreciated 🙂

  9. Thank you, Justin, for being an awesome voice teacher! 🙂 I admire you for telling us that joyfulness counts more than perfection when it comes to singing. It’s something many voice teachers just never say. Also, on your recommendation, my Maine Coon got himself a job. You got me laughing so hard with that one.. 🙂 xx

  10. Hi New York Vocal Coaching. I want to ask some question. If you’ve made some videos regarding these questions please let me know.
    1. I am a boy, 17 years old, and I sing in female’s tone a lot. Is it good for me?
    2. I am able to belt up to F5 or G5, but how do I increase my range?
    3. When I sing higher, my volume will decrease and my tone will be inconsistent. How do I fix this?
Last but not least, thanks for making great videos, teaching people how to sing etc. P/S: My life changed when I started singing. I don’t do stupid behaviours anymore.
    FAREEZ, MALAYSIA
    Bye!

  11. Hello, what should i do if im always flipping into falsetto in step 9’s “Gihn-nihn-nihn” exercise? It always happens when i try to stay relaxed and maintain a stable larynx. Thanku Justin, and great video.

  12. The part about finding someone to share your voice with made me sad. I used to have an online friend who I met after I shared some of my songs on my warcraft guild’s discord server. He plays piano and we really connected over our interest in music. He was really supportive and encouraging and I would play guitar and sing for him every night before he went to bed but then he caught feelings for me and wanted to be together even though we live in different countries and he knew right from when we started talking that I am in a relationship. Now he says it’s too hard to just be friends and he can’t talk to me anymore if we can never be together.
