Today’s video is a response to Darrius M. He writes, “I sing mostly pop and pop rock and I want to add lots of power and edge to my tone. Are there any really good exercises that I could do or add to my warm up that would help me?”

Thank you for your question, Darius! I hope this video helps you with learning how to sing with more power and edge. Please keep in mind that these are advanced singing topics. If you do not have the proper foundation of practice in place, you could hurt yourself. This kind of lesson would best be done with a vocal coach. If you are interested in taking private voice lessons with me, I offer them face-to-face at my studio or via Skype. Should you have a video that you would like me to review, I also offer vocal evaluations through my website:

Thanks for joining me today. I look forward to hearing you sing!

Great Video again Madeleine :D. I was just wondering… Do you have any
examples of singers that use this sound with a propper technique?

  2. What Alex says:

Idk why but this video made me laugh xD

  3. Can u please do a basics video for vocal beginners like myself who just
hopped on the vocal bandwagon 😁 such as how to find your range and vocal
type, vibrato, mis consumption about singing and so on.. 😘💗

I have watched your videos recently and I liked it!(I subscribed too!) I
have one question: Should I watch and learn from both Felicia Ricci and
you? Since I’m working on my voice alone, I’m practicing on my own, maybe
for now, so I don’t know if that is too much and if it’ll make me feel
    confused.

How and where exactly do I focus on my breath? What do I have to be
    thinking of when inhaling?

Do you have a quick fix for a light Soprano voice ( i think) with a high
larynx and very little resonance ?

There’s a singing thing that the singer of a band caller Pvris does when
she sings, it’s like an almost raspy shout. I was wondering if there’s a
specific technique to it or how it’s done? :)

  10. Jay Andrew says:

this helps a lot. but why do I feel like when I sing, I’m just talking but
just adding a little more? is that suppose to be correct?

it to be higher, but not being squeaky, with a little more power?
